The Modern Warfare 3 Beta is here for PlayStation users, making me glad I have the console. While other platforms will gain access later, PS5 users are among the first to play the next installment in Call of Duty. However, I ran into an issue early on where I could not play the beta and only had the option to pre-order. Here is how to fix the pre-order only and can't play error in the Modern Warfare 3 Beta on PS5.
How to fix Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer Beta not working on PlayStation 5
The Modern Warfare 3 Beta began on October 6, 2023, for PlayStation players only, but many including myself could not actually launch the game. While frustrating, I figured out a way to get the MW3 Beta working on PlayStation 5. Here is how to fix the beta not working on PlayStation and how to play.
- Find Modern Warfare 3 in the CoD Hub.
- Press the Start button.
- Scroll down to the Modern Warfare 3 Beta in the new window.
- Press X to start the Beta.
I had to close and reopen the CoD Hub for this option to appear. Previously, it kept showing the option to pre-order Modern Warfare 3 only. Once I finally got into the beta and was able to play, the option was defaulted to play instead of pre-order.
You may not run into this issue, but if you do encounter it, the method above should solve the problem. With luck, it will be ironed out quickly and not be present during the remainder of the beta.
