Breakwaters is an upcoming action-adventure co-op game releasing on November 11, 2021. It features a huge emphasis on the ocean and how the player adapts and overcomes its challenges. Players have seen the same character sailing, exploring, and battling massive Titans in all its trailers. As a result, they may be wondering if there is character customization.
The answer is yes—there is character customization in Breakwaters. This was the first stretch goal for their Kickstarter, set at $20,000, which they smashed with an end total of $98,314. Developer Soaring Pixel Games have also confirmed this in several Steam discussions.

They have confirmed that players can customize their character in a few ways at launch, including body, hair, skin, shirt, and worn items. They can also choose between a male and female avatar. They plan to increase the number of customizable content as the game develops in its early access phase.
