Is there a day and night cycle in Breakwaters – What does it change?

The day carries on.

Breakwaters, an upcoming action-survival game from Soaring Pixels Games, promises to give players a rich experience with an array of islands to explore on their adventure through a vast archipelago. Several mechanics are synonymous with the survival genre, including a day/night cycle, which leads players to ask if the game will feature this mechanic.

According to the game's official Kickstarter, Breakwaters features a day and night cycle. There will be different plants, animals, and resources available for players to discover depending on what time of day they are exploring, harvesting, or crafting.

Finding out which resources are plentiful at what time of day is integral to success in Breakwaters. For example, regular coral can linger during the day, but players snag bio-luminescent coral at night. Some animals, like Fireflies, only appear at night, so the game's environments shift with the time of day.
