Atomic Heart has a limited, but potent, roster of weapons. Melee weapons never stop being useful thanks to their not requiring any ammunition and their ability to silently dispatch robotic adversaries. Early on, players are likely to be torn between two melee weapons, the Swede and the Fox. Both are axes but behave quite differently.
Should you use the Swede or the Fox in Atomic Heart?
While both melee weapons are nearly identical in stats, the Fox edges out the Swede in two critical areas: attack speed and charge damage. The Swede is a fantastic starter weapon with excellent crowd control thanks to its 360-degree spin attack. However, the Fox wins out thanks to it having nearly double the attack speed and much higher charge damage and speed. Throw in the ability to use Polymer skills thanks to the Fox being a one-handed weapon, cheap upgrades, and the Fox takes it.
