Upgrading gear, weapons, and items is key to surviving the world of Atomic Heart. There are threats around every corner and using your equipment effectively can make a big difference in combat. Your inventory space can fill up pretty quickly with weapons, ammo, and consumables, but can be upgraded. Here is how to increase your inventory space in Atomic Heart.
How to unlock inventory upgrades in Atomic Heart
To get more inventory space in Atomic Heart, you must progress through the game enough to unlock character upgrades. Once character upgrades are unlocked, you can upgrade your inventory by going to the red, flirty upgrade computer. Go to the character tab, and first upgrade your munitions, then you can upgrade your tactical backpack, which increases inventory space.

Each inventory upgrade costs 75 neuropolymer, but is worth it early on. Weapons, ammo, and consumables all take up inventory space, so it is important to have enough space for the equipment you want to carry. You can also keep equipment in the storage, which can be found at the upgrade computer.
Once you unlock more weapons, cartridges, and consumables, you will need to organize your backpack and only keep the equipment you want to use. Fortunately, there are many upgrade computers throughout the game, so you can switch out your equipment often for the different situations you will run into.
