Atomic Heart is a deceptively large game with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. The Soviet shooter is broken up between indoor areas and a large outdoor map. With so much to explore in both an interior and exterior sense, it can be a little daunting for players that are completionists and want to nab everything they can.
Can you go back to old areas in Atomic Heart?
The answer to this is a bit of both, yes and no. After completing each interior area, players are returned to the open world. There are several areas to hit that are important in the open world, including the Polygon Testing Grounds and the Arena. Beyond that, access to interior areas is restricted, so players will want to ensure they loot everything that isn't nailed to the floor.

While traveling back to previous areas can be hit-and-miss, at least players don't really have to worry about actually missing anything like weapons and upgrades as they spawn randomly. Just make sure to loot every cabinet, chest, and chest of drawers. Aside from the aforementioned big-ticket items, there will be plenty of crafting items and materials that are nearly as important.
