Therizinosaurus are brutal, solitary dinosaurs from the late cretaceous period that roam the lands in ARK: Survival Evolved. Once tamed, however, these dinosaurs live up to their modern relatives by serving as excellent multipurpose dinosaurs who can farm high amounts of different resources. While these dinosaurs may seem scary at first, they're definitely worth the approach.
How to tame a Therizinosaurus in ARK
The trouble with these dinosaurs is that they like to attack anyone who gets too close. Your best bet is to start off by trapping the Therizinosaurus. Use stone gates to build a box and lure the dino inside.
Once you have a dinosaur in the box, run out of the trap box by darting through the spaces left on each corner of the box and then shoot the dinosaur from afar. Make sure to keep a good distance because if you get too close, the Therizinosaurus will use its claws for maximum impact and damage.
After knocking the dinosaur out, use a high amount of Exceptional Kibble and Soothing Balm to increase the taming process and don't wander off. You'll also want to keep narcotics on hand because sedatives don't work for very long with these dinosaurs.
How to feed a Therizinosaurus in ARK
Therizinosaurus as a species are herbivores, but enjoy a bit of variety in their diet. They'll expect Exceptional Kibble, but will also chow down on the following other pieces of food:
- Vegetables
- Sweet Vegetable Cake
- Berries
- Grains
- Soybeans
- Mejoberry
How to breed a Therizinosaurus in ARK
If you allow two Therizinosaurus dinosaurs to mate, the female will lay a black and purple Fertilized Therizinosaurus Egg.
To breed these dinosaurs, you'll first want to get both a male and female Therizinosaurus. You'll then need to build a pen that can comfortably fit both dinosaurs. Put both of the dinosaurs in the enclosure before going into the control menu to have them both wander. It'll take around 18-48 hours for breeding to succeed.
Once you have a Fertilized Egg, make sure that the temperature surrounding the egg is between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius. It should hatch after two hours.
