In the previous part of this guide, we covered where to go for each of Tasha's Stories. If you have followed along with the Tall Tale story so far, you're likely standing on your boat, Wooden Plank in your hands. You're also possibly wondering what in Davey Jones's Locker you're supposed to do with it. In this guide, we will explain how to uncover the mystery behind this Plank, and help you find the legendary Ancient Crest!

Before we begin, if you accidentally stumbled across this guide while looking for instructions to navigate the stories and find the Keys and Chest, you can find the link to that guide below. Alternatively, if you have already found the Ancient Crest and want to find the Hidden Journals, you can find that link below as well.

If you're still reading and want this guide to just move on and get to the solutions already, go ahead and skip to Step One. Otherwise, carry on!
Once you have opened Briggsy's Chest, you'll find it contained another vague riddle for you to solve. You're likely starting to notice that this is a common trend within the game, especially for the Tall Tales. The pages you find in the Chets will lead you to believe that this will lead to some grand, valuable treasure. Unfortunately, you don't get to sell it. Instead, you'll return it to Tasha once you've found it.
Step One: Solve the Plank
This Plank is hardly a puzzle to solve, and more just a treasure map without an X Marks the Spot. If you have no idea what to do with this thing, that's completely understandable. It's often the most obvious solutions that go unnoticed. You have the answer to where you'll find the treasure; you simply need to turn the Plank around while holding it.
Upon doing so, you will find that there are coordinates in the fashion of the letter and number. This letter and number can be used on your Ship's Map, where you will find the corresponding island in the block listed on the Plank. The letter represents the columns on the top of the map; the number represents the rows on the left. Move to the map block that matches the Plank, and you will see the island with the Ancient Crest!
As you can see in the image above, our Plank tells us that the island we need to go to is in H13: Kraken's Fall! Yours will likely be different, but once you've found your coordinates, you can use the list below to see where you need to go — no need for a map!

Step Two: Find the Ancient Crest!
Spoiler warning: This part of the guide will tell you exactly which island to go to and where the treasure is on the island. If you were hoping to find this information yourself, stop reading now. However, since you're on this guide, you're likely already aware of the spoilers. If you're stuck and need help figuring out what to do, or you just want to get through the Tall Tale fast, continue reading!
B13 - Mermaid's Hideaway
If your Plank says B13 on the back, you'll be headed to Mermaid's Hideaway. On the northern beach, you will find a large stone plateau by itself. Line this plateau up with the hole that matches it in the Plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is on the bottom right.
E17 - Discovery Ridge
If your Plank says E17 on the back, you'll be headed to Discovery Ridge. On the far western islands, you will find a shipwreck near some large rocks. Line this shipwreck up with the hole that matches it in the Plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is at its base.
F3 - Smuggler's Bay
If your Plank says F3 on the back, you'll be headed to Smuggler's Bay. Stand on the beach that is Northwest of the large bay, and you will see the two rock formations across the water that are on the Plank. Line these rock formations up with the hole that matches them in the Plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot on the bottom left.
G10 - Cannon Cove
If your Plank says G10 on the back, you'll be headed to Cannon Cove. On the beach east of the docks, facing the bay, you will see a rock ledge sticking out above you. H6 - Lone Cove
If your Plank says H6 on the back, you'll be headed to Lone Cove. If you head to the center of the island, you will see a large triangle-shaped rock with a slightly smaller triangle-shaped rock next to it. Line these rocks up with the hole that matches it in the Plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is in the grass.
H19 - Shark Bait Cove
If your Plank says H19 on the back, you'll be headed to Shark Bait cove. In the center of the island, you will see a large fish-shaped statue. Head to the beach Northwest of this statue, then line it up with the hole that matches it in the plank. You will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is on the bottom left.
M10 - Shipwreck Bay
If your Plank says M10 on the back, you'll be headed to Shipwreck Bay. Several rock formations surround the center island, but you will need to go to the one off the Southwest corner. Line the center rock formation up with the hole that matches it in the plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is on the bottom right.
Q3 - Marauder's Arch
If your Plank says Q3 on the back, you'll be headed to Marauder's Arch. On the southern branch of the island, you will find a large triangle-shaped rock. Line this rock up with the hole that matches it in the Plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is in the patch of sand on the bottom.
R12 - Kraken's Fall
If your Plank says R12 on the back, you'll be headed to Kraken's Fall. On the northwestern beach, you will find a shipwreck with a Kraken head on its bowsprit. Line this bowsprit up with the hole that matches it in the plank, and you will see where the Ancient Crest's dig spot is on the bottom left.

Step Three: Finish the Tale
Once you have found the Ancient Crest, there is one last thing to do. You must take it back to Tasha on Ancient Spire Outpost. She will be excited to see it and astounded that one of Briggsy's legends was true. She'll take it off your hands and swear to a life of adventure. We're not sure if she'll ever follow through with it, but we sure hope so!
For finishing this Tall Tale, you'll receive The Legendary Storyteller Commendation! Now is not the time to stop, though! Just like the other Tall Tales, you'll receive another commendation for completing this Tall Tale five times and one more for finding all the Hidden Journals!
