Ever wanted to start playing Destiny 2 but needed a bit of a boost to get you started off? Don't worry, since Destiny 2 has a starter pack, I will tell you whether it's worth it or not.
Is the Destiny 2 Starter Pack any good?
Destiny 2 has had its ups and downs, with many players expressing disappointment for various reasons, such as delays, layoffs, and more. So, there is now a Destiny 2 Starter Pack in an effort to make the game more attractive for new players.
In an era of microtransactions and DLCs hidden behind a paywall, this concept isn't anything new. It has become customary for game developers to generate revenue, although it does not always make its way back into the game. I'm not one to tell you how to spend your money; however, if you are genuinely concerned about whether the starter pack is worth it, I'll provide a detailed breakdown below.
What's included in the Destiny 2 Starter Pack?
Designed to kickstart a new player's journey into the world of Destiny, the Destiny 2 Starter Pack includes three exotic weapons, three cosmetic items, and four types of resources.
Loot | Description |
---|---|
Traveler's Chosen | Exotic Sidearm |
Ruinous Effigy | Exotic Trace Rifle |
Sleeper Simulant | Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle |
Exotic Ship | Cosmetic |
Exotic Sparrow | Cosmetic |
Exotic Ghost | Cosmetic |
125,000 Glimmer | Resource |
50 Enhancement Core | Resource |
5 Enhancement Prism | Resource |
1 Ascendant Shard | Resource |
Is the Destiny 2 Starter Pack worth it?
You receive three exotics, cosmetics, and consumables, all of which can be obtained for free by playing the game for awhile, or by paying $14.99 to unlock them instantly.
The Destiny 2 Starter Pack includes items that have no value and do not benefit new players. Therefore, in my opinion it is not worth the price for what it offers. Bungie wasted a good opportunity to include newer and rarer content that would make players of all kinds to try their starter pack.
