Fortnite is taking us all on a trip down memory lane by slowly releasing all the OG maps, loot pools, and gameplay features that we knew in loved in past seasons of Fortnite.
These OG seasons are being released periodically with hotfixes over the next few weeks. If you're anxiously anticipating the release of season 6, we have all the details for you below on when you can expect it and everything included in this next nostalgic step.
Fortnite OG Season 6 release date
I have been loving the look of the OG map right now, featuring locations all the way back to the very first seasons, but there are plenty of other changes that happened throughout Chapter 1 of Fortnite that players are looking forward to as well, such as the appearance of the Cube.
The season 6 changes are right around the corner, and according to Epic Games, they will roll out on November 9th with a hotfix, and we will continue until the 16th. They are usually known for completing their hotfixes and updates in the early morning hours, so we expect this to happen around 12am PST, 3am EST, and 8am GMT. However, things might run differently than usual with this particular chapter.

Fortnite OG Season 6 map changes
Even though season 6 is being rolled out via a hotfix, we can still expect plenty of changes. With this nostalgic season change, players will re-experience the Loot Lake catastrophe when the notorious Cube appears and lifts a chunk of Loot Lake into the sky as a floating island. That said, we can expect the map to reflect the changes we saw in the classic season 6 event, especially in the Loot Lake region.
Along with that significant map change, we will see more OG weapons and items added to the game. These items were game-changing back in the day, and many of them have been vaulted for a long time without a reappearance until now. Take a look at the list of them below.
- Double Barrel Shotgun
- Clinger
- Six Shooter
- Chiller Trap (Excluded from Zero Build modes)
- Port-a-Fortress
- Mounted Turrets (Excluded from Zero Build modes)
- Quadcrasher
- Driftboard
There are still plenty of changes and additions coming to OG Fortnite, so keep your eyes peeled as we travel through more classic seasons over the next few weeks. We will see more of our favorite weapons, vehicles, and more returning.
