In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players were given the ability to tweak the stats of their attachments through Weapon Tuning. However, does the sequel, Modern Warfare 3, offer the same flexibility?
Can you Weapon Tune in Modern Warfare 3?
Weapon Tuning has always been sort of controversial in the Call of Duty community ever since it was introduced in Modern Warfare 2. Some people love it, while some people hate it. I'm personally a big fan of the system, so when I heard Weapon Tuning might be returning in Modern Warfare 3, I was overjoyed. I adore the nuance that comes with the system that allows me to tinker with my guns to my heart's content.

While Weapon Tuning was not present in either of the Modern Warfare 3 betas, we have long since heard its existence through publically shared screenshots giving us brief glimpses. Despite these previews, turns out there will not actually be any Weapon Tuning in Modern Warfare 3. Even the Modern Warfare 2 weapons that originally had access to Weapon Tuning, won't have it in Modern Warfare 3.
This is disappointing because Weapon Tuning offered a significant way of changing how base weapons operated. With its absence, we'll, instead, be relying on the more traditional method of changing attachments on a gun to improve performance. You win some, you lose some. I'm still looking forward to Modern Warfare 3's November 10 official release.
