Smoking the Mirage mid-sniper's nest window has always been a crucial strategy for pretty much every form of gameplay by us players and competitive esports alike. As such, it's quite important to know if the smoke still works in CS2 despite all the changes. Spoiler: it does, and I'll teach how below.
How to practice smokes in CS2 - Console Commands
Firstly, you'll need to enable the Developer Console. For this, go into Settings by clicking the Gear icon, choose Game, and then select Yes for enabling the console. You can access the console by hitting the tilde (`) key on your keyboard.
Once done, you need to:
- Click Play
- Click Practice
- Choose Casual
- Toggle on:
- Grenade Camera
- Infinite Ammo
- Infinite Warmup
- Once in-game, type into the console:
- sv_cheats true
- bind n noclip
This will let you practice grenades with CS2's all-new Grenade Camera, which lets you see where the grenade you're cooking is going to land once you throw it. You can additionally press the n key to fly around after the grenade to see where it lands.

How to smoke Mirage Sniper's Nest from T spawn in CS2
To begin with, you'll need to walk to the trash can location just on your right as you spawn on the T side. Then, do the following:
- Stand right next to the trash can.
- Aim for the fence and door frame margins.
- Jump-throw the smoke.
This might take several attempts since the smoke bounces off the very narrow ledge of the mid-catwalk, landing into the sniper's nest and smoking the whole place up.
