Counter-Strike has long had one of the best communities simply because of how dedicated fans are to the games. Part of this is because of the various game modes, but also because of the Workshop support. Workshop maps have been an integral part of the community, so you may be wondering how to play Workshop maps in Counter-Strike 2.
How to Use Workshop Maps in Counter-Strike 2
At the time of writing, there is no in-game way to play Workshop Maps in Counter-Strike 2 as there is no official Workshop support. It will likely take the community and developers sometime before Workshop Maps become easy to play through the game. However, there is a workaround to getting Custom Maps in Counter-Strike 2 using commands. Here is how to install and play Workshop Maps in Counter-Strike 2.
Note: Your mileage may vary, and some Workshop Maps may not work properly.
- Download the VPK file for the Workshop Map.
- Place the file in the Counter-Strike 2 folder.
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\maps
- Launch Counter-Strike 2.
- Press the ~ key.
- Input map mapname (replace mapname with the name of the map Ex. canals)
- Press Enter.

How to play Practice Matches in Counter-Strike 2
Practice is a great way to learn the game and improve your skills in Counter-Strike 2. It allows you to play against bots where you can work on your aim, learn the maps, and master the various weapons. Starting a game of Practice is easy and can be done anytime. Here is how to set up a Practice game in Counter-Strike 2.
- Launch Counter-Strike 2.
- Select Play.
- Click Practice.
- Select your map preference.
- Hit Go.
Once you are in the Practice game, you can choose either team. You will then play through the 12 rounds of the game, switching sides. Playing Practice allows you to learn the fundamentals of the game and discover the intricacies of both teams. I recommend putting some time into Practice to learn the game, especially if you are a newcomer to Counter-Strike.
