Most role-playing games have a difficulty tuner, if not all of them. Cyberpunk 2077 is no different, as you can select from four different difficulty levels, which determine how hard the gameplay will be. In this guide, I've explained the difficulty setting and how to change it.
How to Change Difficulty in Cyberpunk 2.0
To change the difficulty in Cyberpunk 2077, go to the Gameplay menu in Settings. The first option will be Game Difficulty, which allows you to select from Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard options. Select your preferred difficulty level using the indicated input, then hit Apply and Confirm. Remember, the game will load from the last checkpoint if you change the difficulty setting, so make sure to save the game beforehand.

Cyberpunk 2077 Difficulty Levels Explained
Here's how I would explain the difficulty levels in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0:
- Easy: If you want no challenge in combat at all and are just here for the story.
- Normal: A balanced experience where the combat doesn't feel too difficult, rather it's on the easier side.
- Hard: Perfect for most players, especially if you want a true RPG experience in which you'll have to invest in character development via the perk system.
- Very Hard: The maximum difficulty you can achieve in Cyberpunk 2.0. It does test your skill extensively, and you can't survive long without utilizing all the combat tools like cyberware, equipment, and, most importantly, your character build.
Prior to the Cyberpunk 2.0 update, I'd have suggested everyone play on Hard mode. However, the developers have "rebalanced game difficulty to increase the challenge at higher difficulties," as per the recent patch notes. After trying out the game myself, I'd say you should play on Normal difficulty for a balanced experience and Hard if you like the combat to be challenging. I've also tried Very Hard, but it feels over-the-top as your character dies very fast, even while facing a small group of low-tier enemies.
