Guardians have discovered a bug that may have existed since the launch of Destiny 2's The Witch Queen in 2022. It involves being a bit clever with the Crafting Table on the Mars Enclave.
If executed properly, Guardians can infuse any craftable weapon's trait into another craftable weapon. Here's hoping you've been diligent in collecting red borders.
Destiny 2 Crafting Glitch - How to make fun guns in Destiny 2
There are two methods for making fun guns. Both require Guardians to be insanely quick with selecting the weapons and essentially, getting ahead of the game. To do this, we need to bog down both your console/PC and internet connection.
The first thing to do is cap the frame rate to 30 FPS in the video settings. Secondly, start downloading a large game like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Call of Duty. If possible, tether your console/PC to a mobile hotspot. Finally, start streaming something like Netflix. With everything struggling, we're ready to craft.
Copying Exotic Perks
Speed is the name of the game here. Being anything less than perfect will result in failure. For this example, we're going to copy the Exotic Osteo Striga's perk, Screaming Swarm, onto the IKELOS SMG. At the crafting table, craft a new weapon, and head to the SMGs. You're going to click on Osteo Striga and then immediately click on the IKELOS SMG. If done correctly, you'll see the IKELOS SMG load with the Screaming Swarm perk. If you see anything else, it didn't work.
This works for any craftable Exotic like Dead Man's Tale, Dead Messenger, or Vexcalibur. Note that combos like the Warlock gloves, Necrotic Grip, pair extremely well with this Frankenstein's Monster of a gun that we've just crafted.
Copying Legendary Perks
Transferring Legendary Perks is similar to the Exotics, but instead of crafting a new weapon, we're going to reshape an existing weapon at the crafting table. For this example, we're going to make your bread-and-butter weapon, an Aggressive Frame Ammit AR2.
For this, we need to craft the Ammit AR2 and a shotgun with the Aggressive Frame archetype, like Imperial Decree. Once crafted, go into the Reshape menu of the crafting table. From here, it works exactly like the Exotic method. Click the shotgun and immediately select the Ammit AR2. If successful, you'll see the Ammit AR2 appear with the Aggressive Frame.
Aggressive Frame Ammit AR2 in Destiny 2
While there are other weapons that can be crafted, the Aggressive Frame Ammit AR2 works phenomenally in all situations. Aggressive Frame increases the rate of fire after kills and on an assault rifle, it gets ridiculous very quickly. It's great for clearing mobs, nuking orange bars, and utterly embarrassing bosses. If you've been looking to farm content, this is the gun to do it.
The build I liked increases range and handling while adding explosions into the mix because hey, explosions! Throw in some passive Solar buffs that increase scorch and you'll become the avatar of Wadjet herself.
- Arrowhead Brake: Increases handling by 10 and recoil control by 29.
- Armor-Piercing Rounds: Increases range by five and deals 5% increased damage to PvE enemy shields.
- Dynamic Sway Reduction: Rapidly improves accuracy and stability while continuously holding down the trigger.
- Incandescent: Killing an enemy spreads a longer-lasting Scorch effect to all nearby.
