Plenty of gamers were hyped to hop on Destiny 2 after Season of the Witch was announced. Unfortunately, many of those gamers also found that they couldn't switch their loadouts. This is certainly rage material, but Bungie is aware of the issue, and it looks like this error shouldn't be a problem for too much longer.
Destiny 2 disables Loadouts before Season of the Witch
Right before Season of the Witch was about to launch, Bungie had to disable the ability to switch loadouts in Destiny 2. This was done as an emergency fix to stop hackers from being able to mess with the game. As it is with the launch of other big gaming titles, the DLC release was a target for hackers.
The good news is that Bungie is well aware of the issue and is doing all they can to fix it. Bungie Help on X (formally known as Twitter) left this statement:

Fortunately, there are other ways that players can get their loadouts. One solution involves using a third-party inventory management system like DIM to build loadouts manually.
Another way of getting loadouts back is to simply grind Guardian Rank. If players can complete Guardian Rank Six as well as the Flawless Lost Sector, they should be able to get their loadouts back. This would mean completing the following objectives:
- Hit Season Rank Seven
- Activate three Seasonal Perks
- Turn up Power Level three times
- Clear four Seasonal Challenges
Loadouts should be unlocked if all of these objectives are met. Otherwise, players will have to wait for a clear fix from Bungie.
