ExileCon 2023 has announced a whole lot of changes to both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2. With the new information supplied by GGG, fans of the series are starting to get some serious sneak peeks into what looks like some excellent content. Here's what we know so far about the classes.
All characters in Path of Exile 2
There will be a total of 12 main classes in Path of Exile 2. Each of these characters, according to the Path of Exile website. It also has been reported that we'll be seeing three possible Ascendancy specializations, which would bring in a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes to pick between. While we don't all have the information on all these classes yet, let's talk about those that we do know of!
Sorceress
The Sorceress is a ranged magic class. You can use staffs of varying elements to boost your favorite damage type. In the demo, GGG showed off some of her amazing skills, including a massive Comet skill with a long cast time and a massive amount of damage. With each staff, players finally have a free-to-cast basic attack spell of the element attached to that staff (for example, fire staffs have a free-to-cast fireball).
The build at ExileCon also showed off a unique passive called Artic Armor. This boosts a Sorceress' defense for every moment she stands still. Another great skill mentioned was something called Mana Tempest; this creates a leeching effect on the Sorceress' mana pool, but it boosts all spells, adding extra damage.
Monk
The Monk will be a melee DPS with loads of moves to freeze enemies in place. The build displayed at ExileCon has a lot of movement. You can also freeze enemies with the Monk; this finally includes bosses. You just need to charge it slowly to break the bosses' resistance to it. It seems like it will work similarly to poise meters in games like Dark Souls.

All upcoming PoE2 classes
Here are some of the classes that we do know are coming but don't have much information about:
- Huntress: Not much has been seen about the Huntress so far, but she will be a ranged ranger-style character.
- Mercenary: This character will be similar to a duelist.
- Druid: The Druid will play much like a templar class, with mobility as a focus.
- Warrior: The Warrior will most likely be a generic melee class focused on strength and dexterity. We assume they will be similar to a marauder.
The other six classes are still a mystery. Something about a Templar was briefly mentioned as an example, but it was not declared as a definitive part of the meta for Path of Exile 2. However, GGG did note that there will be two different classes for each of the combinations of strength, intelligence, and dexterity. To see the capture of the two spoiled characters from ExileCon, head over to GGG's official PoE YouTube.
