One of the great things about Ultrahand in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is how it can be used in ways that have nothing to do with how the mechanic was intended. A perfect example is how players can make music by taking lasers and firing them at stakes like musical glasses. Here is everything players need to know to get composing.
How to create songs with Lasers and Stakes in Zelda Totk - Tears of the Kingdom
There are several methods to making music in Tears of the Kingdom, but the simplest involved creating a laser wheel. This can be built with the following pieces:
- Big Wheel
- Steering Stick
- Beam Emitter
- Stake
The Big Wheel should be attached horizontally to the top of the stake. Then, attach the beam on the side of the wheel and place the Steering Stick on top of the wheel. Now, Link should be able to steer which directing the Beam Emitter fires at.
After building this and saving it to Autobuild, all that's left is to get a bunch of Stakes and arrange them in a specific way. I recommend getting Stakes at the Device Dispenser by the Gerudo Ring Ruins (coordinates: -1628, -1889, 0002) south of the Outskirt Stable. I got tons of Stakes by using this dispenser as well as a Big Wheel.
In terms of actually arranging the Stakes to create a song, it's hard to explain without going into music theory. The basic idea, though, is that Stakes that are placed further into the ground will have a higher pitch. Therefore, players will want short steaks for high notes and tall steaks for low notes.
