How to confuse enemies in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

The enemies aren't that smart.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers multiple ways to approach exploration, combat, puzzles, and more. One of my favorite ways to deal with enemies is to leave them confused and let them attack one another. However, this requires more work than simply telling a Bokoblin that another Bokoblin called them a mean name. Fortunately, I'll tell you exactly how to confuse your enemies in Tears of the Kingdom.

Link can use Muddle Bud to confuse his enemies in Tears of the Kingdom. This leaves them confused and unable to tell friends from foes and causes them to attack one another. You can either fuse it to arrows, your weapons, or simply throw it at them.

I recommend using this when facing multiple enemies and against the strongest in the group. This gives you a temporary ally and draws some of your enemies' focus away from you. You can also just hit every enemy you face with a Muddle Bud and watch the chaos ensue.

Muddle Bud is found in The Depths and is more common along the base of trees or rock formations. You are not guaranteed to find this material here, as Bomb Flowers and Puffshrooms are also found here. Keep an eye out for its distinctive purple bulbs, or you can use the Purah Pad to locate this ingredient once you get the upgrade. Watch out as you explore The Depths, though; this place is crawling with Silver Lynel.
