Destiny 2 Season 21 brought a whole host of new content, including fishing, new armor, and the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. And with the dungeon comes a new Exotic weapon: The Navigator. Here's everything you need to know about The Navigator in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep, including Perks.

What is the new Ghosts of the Deep Exotic, The Navigator?

The Navigator is an Exotic Strand Trace Rifle, meaning it synergizes with Destiny 2's latest subclass and, once equipped, sits in the Kinetic slot.

When the dungeon debuted on May 26, 2023, in Season of the Deep, I spent a good few hours figuring out the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon's mechanics with my Fireteam in the hopes of scoring The Navigator after defeating the final boss, but we were unsuccessful. I will own it one day!

The Navigator Intrinsic Trait in Destiny 2

The weapon features the Protective Weave Intrinsic Trait, which, when shot at a teammate, gives both the wielder and an ally the Woven Mail buff. This makes The Navigator perfect for almost every group activity, whether it's a Raid, Crucible, or Vanguard because the buff grants 60% Damage Resistance for 10 seconds.

The Navigator unique Perk in Destiny 2

The other unique Perk that The Navigator has is Weft Cutter. This severs targets afflicted with sustained damage, reducing their damage output. Again, this makes the Exotic a good pick for team activities where you can support your allies.

How to get The Navigator Exotic in Destiny 2

Guardians who defeat the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon's final boss, Simmumah Ur-Nokru, and complete the dungeon will get a chance to obtain The Navigator. Like other dungeon and Raid Exotics, it has a mere 5% drop chance, though this can be boosted by completing the following Triumphs:

  • Deny Death—Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon without dying or leaving the activity.
  • In Memoriam—Find and listen to each memory of Darkness in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon.
  • Alone in the Deep—Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon solo without leaving the activity.
  • King of the Deep—Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon solo without dying or leaving the activity.
  • Sovereign—Complete the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon on Master difficulty.

Is The Navigator farmable in Destiny 2?

No, The Navigator is not farmable. Not when considering that you can only have it drop once per week per class. You can farm Legendary loot drops in Ghosts of the Deep, though.

How to get The Navigator Catalyst and what it does in Destiny 2

I haven't obtained the gun or its Catalyst myself, but according to SHI3LDSHI3LD on Reddit, it's pretty straightforward.

You'll notice a statue as you face each of the dungeon's encounters. Look for a stack of dead Ghosts near each statue after the fights to gain a buff, then take that buff to the nearby statue. This, according to the user, will spawn a boss. Defeat it three times by bringing the buff to each statue, and a chest containing The Navigator Catalyst should appear.

The Navigator Catalyst adds an alternate fire that creates a grapple point, which is perfect for escaping enemy ambushes. I am so excited to get this, as it sounds broken as heck!
