Mods in Warframes are fairly well represented. A clear description is listed on each one, thus confusion tends to be minimal. However, some mods still have unusual wordings that can cause a bit of frustration if you're not savvy with all of the game's mechanics. Weeping Wounds is one such mod, but we've got a full grasp on how the mod actually works in practice. Here's everything you need to know about the Weeping Wounds mod in Warframe.
How does the Weeping Wounds mod work in Warframe?
Weeping Wounds is one of the more complicated mods in the game because it functions on an existing mechanic for melee weapons called Melee Combo Counter. Functionally, the mod increases your melee status change based on the amount of Melee Combo Counter you've accumulated. For a bit of visual clarity:
Mod Rank | Status Chance per Counter | Capacity Cost |
0 | +6.7% | 4 |
1 | +13.3% | 5 |
2 | +20% | 6 |
3 | +26.7% | 7 |
4 | 33.3% | 8 |
5 | +40% | 9 |
Melee Combo Counter is gained from consistently hitting enemies with melee attacks, so this mod gains in power the more you attack in melee. Due to the significant Status Chance bonuses you can easily get from using this mod, it is almost always better to use this mod instead of a mod that just increases your melee Status Chance baseline. Additionally, this mod stacks with any other mod that grants Status Chance, including dual stat mods like Voltaic Strike.
How to get the Weeping Wounds mod
Weeping Wounds is an Uncommon rarity mod, meaning it is typically not that difficult to obtain. However, RNG (random number generation) makes this an uncertainty, so don't be surprised if you don't get it right away. You'll want to run Necralisk level 15 - 25 bounties located on Deimos to get your hands on this thing. The mod drops from the second and final stages of these bounties, rotation A respectively. You will also see the mod in the possible reward window when selecting the bounty from Mother, which lets you know you're in the right place, doing the right missions.
