To mine ore quickly, switch to a character that wields a Claymore weapon. Swing at the ore chunk, and it should break instantly. While rocks like Crystal Chunks take four hits to break, other ores should come apart in one swing. This effect applies to all Claymore weapons, no matter their level. If you're searching for a certain type of ore, try placing Ningguang in your party.
Ningguang possesses the Trove of Marvelous Treasures passive ability, which marks nearby ore veins on your minimap. This passive will only reveal ore that can be used for forging items, and it will only activate if you have Ningguang in your party. If you're looking for regional ascension materials like Noctilucous Jade, try placing Yanfei in your party, as she reveals Liyue's regional specialties on your minimap. Tighnari has a similar passive for Sumeru specialties, as does Gorou for Inazuma specialties.
