When you're looking to pick up a pack from the newest set in MTG Arena, having no gold is quite the obstacle. Gold is used to buy card packs, purchase cosmetics, and enter events in MTG Arena, making it an invaluable resource. While the game is fairly generous with gold rewards for new players, obtaining gold at higher levels can be difficult. Here are the best ways to earn gold in MTG Arena.
How do you earn gold in MTG Arena?
Completing daily and weekly challenges
The most effective way to earn gold is through daily and weekly challenges. Each of these challenges awards anywhere from 250 to 750 gold, and they refresh every week. It's usually fairly easy to complete these missions, as they require you to play a few games with a deck with a specific color. Since custom games with friends count toward these objectives, you can drag out a friendly game and complete these challenges quickly.
Win matchmade games
Every time you win a public match on MTG Arena, you receive 250 gold and 275 XP. This amount adds up over time, especially if you're grinding your weekly challenges and playing multiple games. However, custom games with friends will not grant you gold rewards, so while custom games are great for farming challenges, they will not give you as much gold as matchmade games.
Rerolling daily challenges
If your current daily challenge only has a reward of 500 gold, you can reroll it to potentially get a challenge worth 750 gold. You can only reroll one challenge a day, and you may be stuck with another 500 gold challenge, but it's always worth a try. These expensive challenges are not more difficult than cheap missions and simply require you to cast spells of a certain mana color or play lands.
