Fans of the Pokémon series don't need to have played from the very beginning to know who Kirlia and Gallade are! Even if you started in the third generation, you remember Ralts as the very first Pokémon that your friend Wally catches. Throughout the game, you watch as their bond develops which results in Ralts evolving into a Kirlia, and then again into a Gardevoir.
The moment is very important for some fans which makes the trio's return in the latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet so great. Ralts is a pretty easy Pokémon to catch and evolving it into Kirlia is as easy as leveling them up to level 20. The real tricky part is when the time comes to evolve Kirlia into Gallade.

Kirlia actually has two evolutions, Gallade and Gardevoir. To ensure that you're starting this guide off right, you need to make sure that the Kirlia you have is a male. If they aren't, then you can only ever hope to evolve them into a Gardevoir. If your Kirlia is male, then you can expose him to a Dawn Stone at any point in order to evolve him. This does not need to be done at a particular time of the day. Once the evolution cutscene ends, you'll have Gallade added to your party as well as your Pokédex.
