Modern Warfare 2 is the latest entry in the series, and many titles have dropped split-screen capabilities altogether. This may leave you wondering if there is split-screen multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2 and how to play it.

How to play split-screen in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Playing split-screen in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer modes is incredibly easy. All you have to do is turn on a second controller while in that game's menu. This will automatically activate split-screen and allow you to play with a friend over local co-op.

One thing to note is that the second controller will need to be tied to an Activision account. Make sure that your player two already has an account ready, or they will need to create and link an Activision account before you can play.

It is also worth noting that split-screen can only be played in multiplayer, as the campaign is completely single-player. So, if you want to play locally with a friend, you will need to stick to multiplayer.
