Where to find Nightshade in the Herbalist’s Garden in A Plague Tale Requiem

It's gardening time.

Much is going on in Chapter 3 of A Plague Tale: Requiem. As Amicia, you must find Nightshade, a plant that can help Hugo, as he's currently having a seizure due to Vaudin, Magister of the Order, trying to suppress the Macula. The Herbalist's garden is the first place to look, but is Nightshade there?

Is Nightshade in the Herbalist's Garden?

The Nightshade isn't located in this Herbalist's garden or the house. You do eventually get Nightshade, but not until the end of Chapter 3. Yet to progress, you'll have to scour the Herbalist's garden to interact with specific plants and then enter the house to progress with the story.

You cannot interact with anything in the garden until Lucas mentions it's a purple star-shaped plant. There are only three plants that can be interacted with.

  • Purple flower to the right of the house, next to the tree.
  • Two plants underneath the garden roof.
    • One to the right.
    • One to the left.

Once all three have been looked at, you can enter the house and carry on Chapter 3. But if you explore more, you can find a corpse and the Chamomile flower for Hugo's Collection. This is not the first nor the last time you need to do specific actions in A Plague Tale: Requiem so that you can move forward with the story.
