Minecraft Dungeons Creeping Winter DLC – Release Date, Leaks, & More!

Mojang Studios has a second DLC planned for Minecraft Dungeons which is called Creeping Winter! We're taking a look at all of the known information surrounding this release with details on the release date, leaks, and anything else that comes out about it.

Creeping Winter will be the second DLC for Minecraft Dungeons. This one takes us away from the jungle, and has us exploring a frozen environment and fortress. If you purchased the Hero Edition, you will receive both of these for free.

Creeping Winter Release Date

Mojan has currently announced that the second DLC will be released sometime later in the year, but according to leaks it looks like Creeping Winter will be released on September 1st, 2020. This is a couple of months after the expect release of the Jungle Awakens DLC.

Creeping Winter Leaks

Leaks have been shared by Nanikos on Reddit, who is reporting from the Minecraft Dungeons Leaks Discord. All of this is subject to change, and was likely found in the files of the game. This DLC is further out then the Jungle Awakens, so I would expect there's a lot more likely to be changed prior to it coming out.

Introduction

Here's the introductory story lore behind the Creeping Winter map:

Deep within the lone fortress a wraith, Now that the Wretched Wraith and the Orb's shard are dealt with, The shard must be destroyed before this Wretched Wraith can turn the world to nothing but ice and snow. distorted by the shard's influence, is the source of the creeping winter. these tormented lands can begin to thaw.

The leaks share a look at the map you'll be exploring in Creeping Winter. There are three different areas you'll be exploring: Frozen Fjord, Lonely Fortress, and Creeping Winter.

Diamond Dust

The Diamond Dust currency is part of the leaks, but it is unclear if it's part of the first or second DLC. This mechanic will give you the ability to upgrade your gear's power levels. This will give you the ability to focus on particular builds, so you don't have to swap gear just because it has a higher item level. This system will be operated by a new Masonry vendor that will appear in town near the Blacksmith and Wandering Trader.
