How to win Flashpoint Limited Time Mode (LTM) in Apex Legends

Get in the Zone.

Flashpoint in Apex Legends is a Limited Time Mode (LTM) that is still a Battle Royale, but there are some major differences. First off, there are no rounds. The Always Be Closing ring rules apply, meaning a final ring on a certain Flashpoint Zone is known from the start, and the most powerful version of the ring slowly moves inward for the entire game.

Secondly, there are no med kits, syringes, shield batteries, or shield cells either, and you can only heal inside of a Flashpoint if you are not taking damage. So, how do you win a match of Flashpoint? The strategy for this mode can stray further from a standard Battle Royale match than you think. Better strategies can be formed with two ideas in mind: How to play outside of a Flashpoint and how to play inside of one. Let’s take a look.

Outside - Prioritize Alternative Healing

There are quite a few ways to heal your health and shields outside of the Flashpoint Zones. You should become well-acquainted with the best options.

  • Lifeline’s Tactical (Health, all)
  • Wattson’s Ultimate (Shields, all)
  • Wattson’s Passive (Shields, self)
  • Octane’s Passive (Health, self)
  • Replicator Shield Upgrade (Shields, costs 50 Crafting Materials)
    • Does not work on Red or Gold Shields
  • Shield Swapping (Shields, finding a shield on the ground or in a death box)
    • Make sure that shield is at full or at least more HP when you swap

Inside - Defend a Flashpoint Zone at Range

If your team is the only one in a certain Flashpoint, and you have heavy-hitting ranged weapons, you can spot other teams who may be trying to infiltrate before they get there. It's extremely valuable to have a fight advantage, like your team being in a Flashpoint Zone while the other is not.

Snipers work best for this, but marksman and other mid-range play can help too. Doing this in any Flashpoint Zone is effective, but it can be extremely rewarding and more sustainable, though harder, if done in the Final Ring Flashpoint.
