The first thought that comes to mind is that Trigon: Space Story is just a better looking Faster Than Light. According to Trigon's developers, Sernur.tech, they were inspired by FTL: Faster Than Light, so there will be many similarities between the two games. Below are some of the differences the game offers.
What's the difference between Trigon: Space Story and FTL: Faster Than Light?
Here are some ways that Trigon: Space Story sets itself apart from FTL: Faster Than Light:
- Players can explore the galaxy without restriction.
- The Captain is the pilot and is on the ship as a key person.
- Minibosses will be different captains, so both sides have a chance to lose after the death of their captain.
- Each crew member has their own perks, active abilities, specializations, and pumping levels.
- There are more story events, quests, and missions. The dialogue options have consequences that can affect game sessions.
- The game has time tracking. It is possible during the battle to slow down the passage of time or speed it up. Days pass in the game as you improve your ship or move to other systems, which consume supplies.
- Far better graphics.
FTL: Faster Than Light does provide a lot of inspiration to the game, but Trigon: Space Story also has its own distinctive style. It's different enough from the original to not be a clone, but it belongs to the same genre.
