A Minecraft film has been in the works for several years now with sparse details released, even as delays have mounted and caused more confusion for fans. Now, one new actor has been confirmed for an unknown role.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed from their own sources in relation to Warner Bros. that Jason Momoa will star in the upcoming Minecraft film adaptation. Geoff Keighley and others speculate that Momoa will play Gabriel the Warrior. No other details are known besides the actor being in the final stages of drafting a contract to commit to acting on the project.

The development for the Minecraft movie adaptation has been in the works for years now with many complications, from Shawn Levy and Rob McElhenney abandoning the project to movie developer Jill Messick passing away. Many details for the film are missing and yet to come. There is no concrete release date or official trailer that has been released. It is anyone's guess when fans will finally be able to hit theaters and watch the film.
