Reputation determines how people treat you in the world of Weird West. Your reputation can increase or decrease depending on your actions, leading to different effects like shop prices, NPC interactions, posse relationships, and more.
There are a number of different groups in Weird West and your reputation can determine how they interact with you. For example, sheriffs and deputies will be more inviting if you have a high reputation, but groups like Outlaws may not be very kind or even keep you from entering their areas.
Your reputation can also determine how your companions feel about you. If your companion does not like your behavior, they may abandon you. Each companion has different morals depending on their title and dialogue. If your companion is a deputy, they will most likely like actions that raise reputation, while a bounty hunter may only care about money.
How to Increase Reputation
There are a number of ways to raise your reputation throughout the game in Weird West. Many quests and tasks will affect your reputation depending on how you complete them. You can raise reputation by completing quests in friendly towns and performing kind or helpful interactions with NPCs.
Different actions have various effects on your reputation. Each action that affects your reputation can be seen below the amount of reputation earned for that action. Collecting a bounty may increase your reputation by a little while recovering stolen goods from outlaws increases it by more.
How to Decrease Reputation
There are plenty of ways to decrease reputation, but many of them may result in you being shot at. Being caught stealing, trespassing, and causing violence in town can decrease your reputation. Certain mission actions can also decrease your reputation depending on the result.
Having a low reputation can affect how towns view you and cause people to become "haters" and hold a grudge against you. If your reputation gets low enough, bounty hunters will be paid to track you down. Keep track of how people are interacting with you because NPC dialogue is a good indication of how your reputation holds up in your area.
