Should you optimize equipment in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin?

It's not the best optimization system.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has a huge amount of customization and Job options. Saying that dungeons are loot heavy would be an understatement for this game as you are constantly gaining new gear. It can be quite overwhelming to sift through all your gear, so you may be wondering just how good the game's quick optimization is.

While this answer will vary from player to player based on a bit of RNG luck, the majority of the time, the answer is no. This is because the optimization system goes straight for the highest level gear you have without taking your Jobs into consideration. This means that you could be trying to play a Black Mage but end up with all Samurai gear on.

It's best to sort through the gear yourself and equip pieces that work with your Job and get you Affinity. While the highest level gear may seem like the best route to go, it is oftentimes going to be weaker or hinder your delicate builds.

While the optimize button is always going to be tempting to press, it can just cause you more work in the long run. With any luck, an update will eventually come to fine-tune the optimization system in Stranger of Paradise.
