Apex Legends patch update begins to address the ongoing FPS issues on console

First of many updates to follow!

Respawn Entertainment recently pushed an update for Apex Legends Season 12 that aimed at fixing some of the ongoing issues with the popular battle royale. The developers mentioned on Twitter that this update will fix the challenge reset for Bloodhound's Prestige skin, enable leaver penalty for Control Mode, and it will be the first of many to fix fps issues on consoles.

Console players are experiencing arbitrary frame drops and fps issues during matches and in the lobby. Most of the players highlighted that their experience on the newly updated Olympus map is highly frustrating because of countless glitches and fps issues.

Console players do not have the option to customize the graphics settings, unlike PC. A major section of the console community has reported fps issues since the start of Season 12 Defiance. Some of the reports mention how players are forced to play at a reduced frame rate, especially during combat.

These issues were consistent throughout the season for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. After numerous player reports, Respawn acknowledged these issues earlier this month. On Feb. 23, 2022, they launched the first of many updates addressing the fps issues for console players. Players can expect these updates to arrive in the upcoming weeks fixing most of the fps-related problems faced by the community.
