Nintendo's Directs are known for surprise announcements, and Feb. 2022's showcase continued the trend of unveiling unexpected content. One trailer that debuted during this Direct was the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass trailer. This paid expansion for the popular cart racing title plans to add consistent content to the game until the end of 2023, but what does the Booster Pass unlock?
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass includes staggered releases of 48 remastered tracks from the vast catalog of past iterations of the Mario Kart franchise. Eight courses launch in each wave of the Booster Course Pass, with six waves launching before the end of 2023. Each of these courses is available locally or for online play.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will cost $24.99, and the first set of new tracks will launch on Mar. 18, 2022. Nintendo Switch + Expansion Pass members can play any of the 48 new courses as they release at no additional cost, thanks to their membership.
