As soon as Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord hit early access, Koch Media announced that it would eventually be released on PlayStation. The game has gone from being a better version of Mount and Blade: Warband to feeling like a worthy sequel since it went into early access on PC in March of 2020.
Koch Media recently partnered with TaleWorlds Entertainment to port the game to consoles. While we don't have a release date, we are sure we will see the physical release in 2022 since the confirmation of a port being made was announced in June.
According to the official press release by Koch Media in June, Bannerlord had a much better early access period than was initially expected. This helped both companies see the opportunity of porting faster, instead of the initial waiting period.
In the ports of its previous installments, the game has done well. It is a feudalism simulator that lets players take control of their own character to gather NPCs and command them on the battlefield. Whether the player fights alongside their troops or holds back and gives commands is up to them.
While this game is harder to control with a controller than a keyboard and mouse, it is easy to learn. We know they would have started this month, and it's really just porting a game over to June, not remaking it from scratch, so TaleWorlds should be done very soon.
