Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the sequel to the critically acclaimed original Senua's Sacrifice: Hellblade, which came out as a surprise indie hit back in 2017 and ever since then, the Saga's fans, myself included, have eagerly been waiting for the promised sequel. Ninja Theory has been hard at work and has revealed the newest trailer for the game at the Xbox Games Showcase. Let's dive in!
What is the Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 release date window?
The developers at Ninja Theory have announced that Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is set to release in 2024, and seeing that the previous title's release date was on August 7, it would be logical to expect it to release around that time, so Q3/Fall. The gameplay reveal trailer shows that the sequel will continue the themes seen in the first game, if not exceed the unsettling horror.
Senua, a young Pict warrior, continues with her struggles where whispers and voices torment her like a curse in both games. Players must contend with this brilliant portrayal of mental illness as they try to survive in a hostile world.
The newest trailer showcases Senua crawling out of a small cave and into the cave where the strange kaleidoscopic shapes start forming around her, pulsing with life and appearing to talk to her. Ninja Theory is known for its marvelous soundtracks and for using sound to create an oppressive atmosphere in their games, and this trailer takes the audio engineering to the next level, featuring some of the most incredible effects I've heard to this day!
