As an aerial combat game, sometimes you need to get far away from or catch up to your opponents in Century: Age of Ashes. You might notice that sometimes you're able to use a Speed Boost to do that, and sometimes you can't, or you might not know how to use the Speed Boost at all. Luckily, there is an easy way to use one.
The first thing you need to do when you want to use a Speed Boost makes sure you have enough Stamina to do so. When you're in the middle of a match, you will notice icons at the bottom-middle of your screen. If these icons are all gray, that means you don't have any stamina and can't use a Speed Boost. If at least one of them is blue, then you're able to use one.
When you have stamina, you can activate your Speed Boost by double-tapping your acceleration key (the default on the keyboard is 'W') and holding it down on the second press. This will cause your dragon to accelerate quickly. Hold down the button for three seconds will optimize your usage, and anything beyond that will make your dragon continue to fly at its normal speed.
Once you use a Speed Boost, one of your Stamina bars will turn gray. If you use all of them, you'll need to replenish them again to use another Speed Boost. As stated before, you can use these Speed Boosts to catch up or get away from your opponents. If you're using them to dodge incoming projectiles, try combining the Speed Boosts with tight turns around terrain to protect yourself.
That's all there is to know about how to use Speed Boosts in Century: Age of Ashes!
