The Uncharted movie was first announced by Sony back in 2008. Since then, it has been delayed many times. And with no trailer to show for it, people just assumed that it was still going to be a while before it was finished.
However, in late October, the PlayStation YouTube channel released an official trailer for Uncharted, starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully. We also see Sophia Ali as a younger Chloe Frazer. Uncharted is now set to release in theaters on Feb. 22, 2021. It’s directed by Ruben Fleischer, who replaced Travis Knight back in Oct. 2020 due to a “scheduling conflict.”
The Uncharted movie comes to Netflix
Aside from hitting the big screen, Uncharted will also be streamed on Netflix next year, along with upcoming Sony blockbusters like Venom 2 and Morbius. This is because of a deal between Sony and Netflix that gave the latter exclusive rights to stream Sony movies within 18 months after they’re released.
However, the cinema and Netflix release won’t happen on the same day. Uncharted needs to exit the cinema before the online platform is allowed to stream it.
