When does the M1 Pro and M1 Max release?

It's sooner than you think.

During Apple's newest keynote event on October 18, the tech company announced all-new chipsets for their latest models of MacBook Pros. They are calling these new chips: M1 Pro and M1 Max for the 14" and 16" models of the Macbook Pro, respectively. According to the Apple event, these new chips and their respective MacBook Pros will be available starting October 26.

Unlike the previous M1 chip found in most of Apple's MacBook products, The new M1 Pro and Max both pride themselves on delivering the most powerful processing and graphical capabilities in a MacBook yet. Compared to the M1, the Pro delivers up to a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, up to 32GB of memory, and up to 200GB/s memory bandwidth. But when it comes to the M1 Max, it delivers a locked-in 10-core CPU, up to a 32-core GPU, 64 GB of memory, and 400 GB/s of memory bandwidth. This is the most power Apple has ever put into their MacBook series while also keeping the lightweight, form factor slickness that makes MacBooks so universally recognizable.

These chips also boast lower power consumption compared to other high-end PC laptops, therefore putting less strain on the machine and more power into where it's needed most.

Also, Apple has never really been the leader in terms of performance compared to high-end desktop PCs, but they are definitely holding their own with these new chips in terms of quality and performance when it comes to laptops. We can probably expect further upgrades in the next few years.
